CHRISTOPHER RUSSELL, DR. FREDERICK SCARF, DR. ROBERT STRANGEWAY, MURIEL KNIFFIN Collection Overview ==================== This data collection, PVO OMAG/OEFD Engineering ASCII Data Collection (urn:nasa:pds:pvo-omag-oefd-anc:data-eng-asc), contains data which maybe used to assess the quality of the OMAG and OEFD science data. The data contains temperatures, magnetometer modes, magnetometer sample format, magnetometer spin average select, telemetry data format, telemetry bit rate, spacecraft spin period, pulse time, the difference between the Sun pulse time and the Rip pulse time, and the pulse time flag. The ASCII product, for Orbits 0001 to 3602, were generated from the original binary data file PVO_OMAG_OEFD_ORB2131.FFD. Some of the data have been set to FLAG values when the original values were out of the valid range. The original out of range values are avaliable in the original binary file. They contain the following information: RECORD LENGTH = 104 NUMBER OF COLUMNS = 14 OPERATING SYSTEM = SUN/UNIX # NAME UNITS SOURCE DESCRIPTION 001 UT PVO Universal Time given in PDS format: yyyy-mm-ddThh:mm:ss.sssZ 002 ELECT deg PVO MAG Magnetometer electronics temperature 003 PSENST deg PVO MAG Magnetometer P and T sensor temperatures 004 GSENST deg PVO MAG Magnetometer G sensor temperature 005 MODE 1:2:3 PVO MAG Magnetometer mode 1=Fast, 2=Normal,3=Gradiometer 006 SMPLRATE 1 or 3 PVO MAG Magnetometer sample format (either 1 or 3) 007 CAL 0 or 1 PVO MAG Magnetometer calibration cycle: 0=No, 1=Yes 008 SAS 1:2:4 PVO MAG Magnetometer Spin Average Select (SAS).Valid values are 1, 2, and 4. 009 FORMAT 0-15 PVO EDR Telemetry data format (0-15) 010 BITRATE bits/s PVO EDR Telemetry bit rate 011 SPIN s (seconds) PVO SEDR Spacecraft spin period from the SEDR 012 TFS s (seconds) PVO SEDR Pulse time (Fs) from the SEDR 013 SMINR s (seconds) PVO SEDR The difference between the Sun pulse time and the Rip pulse time (Sun - Rip) 014 PTFLAG PVO SEDR Pulse time flag (0 if there is a real Sun pulse associated with this data sample, -1 otherwise) FORMAT: 0:ENG,1:UNK,2:UNK,3:PGM,4:ACS,5:CMRO,6:PYBK,7:DMRO,8:LACR, 9:PERA,10:PERB,11:PERC,12:PERD,13:PERE,14:APOA,15:APOB A binary version of these data is available in the PVO OMAG/OEFD Engineering Binary Data Collection (urn:nasa:pds:pvo-omag-oefd-anc:data-eng-bin) Confidence Level Overview ========================= These data have been reprocessed several times during the course of the mission. Each successive reprocessing has eliminated some of the problems found in earlier version of the data. Please bring to the attention of the original investigator any suspicious section of data. No zero level correction has been applied to the data because of the small size of the determined zero level. References ========== Russell, C.T., R.C. Snare, J.D. Means, and R.C.
